three stars MINUS ... not up to par

This cruise was a bit of a let down as everything seemed downgraded...the entertainment was quite disappointing especially since previous cruises out of this same port and same cruiseline just last year were significantly better all the way around. The food, the entertainment and the number of smiling faces on staff were all much better in the past. The shore excursion personnel, at least the two men, didn't REALLY know the tours...lots of misinformation... and were not about to be helpful about the ports for anything that didn't include a tour...maybe because they had never actually been to the ports before. I think this was the first time out for this itinerary as the ship just came out of dry dock. We spoke to some other older cruise experienced passengers who were also disappointed and said that to their surprise the Carnival Magic operating out of this port had better entertainment and food.

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
not as good as Carnival amazingly and not as good as the the three cruises we took last year with royal caribbean
Cabin / Stateroom
just refurbished...though had some big stains on rug
Service and Staff
not as smiley a group this time....friendly when you talked to them but some of them rather grim or very serious looking otherwise
Entertainment
very disappointing...not even close to previous years
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
excursions were the same as last year but the personnel at the shore excursion desk were not very informed...maybe haven't actually visited the ports before. One guy couldn't speak much english.
Galveston, Texas
Lines are amazingly long and Royal Caribbean doesn't have their curbside assistance act together yet
Falmouth, Jamaica
George Town, Grand Cayman
Cozumel, Mexico
