Disappointing cruise

Sail Date: June 01, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Ship was fine., it's the service on board that we received was deplorable. Our luggage was lost[certainly not RCCL fault ], but they did nothing to try to make this our 50th anniversary cruise special in spite of the circumstances. No cake, no generic card, no nothing. When we arrived home, we wrote a letter to corporate. No response. Later we found out that a form letter was sent to PA. We live in NV. We are diamond members, but this seemed to mean nothing. As you can see, we have taken other RCCL cruises and have been very satisfied. This most expensive and most important cruise was a disaster because of the poor level of service and total lack of empathy and concern .

Pros: stateroom size and cleanliness

Cons: customer service, no acknowlegement of 50th anniversary although noted by agent

Recommends Navigator of the Seas? No.

Nothing but disatisfaction from start to finish. No recognition of our 50th anniversary, but we were charged $17 for a cake we never saw and it 2 days to have the charge removed until they consulted with the Maitre d' to ensure one was not served. How insulting! Our table was given to 2 couples. They were there first, so ours was changed. We asked that the bottle of red wine be exchanged for our preference of white Zin. Maitre d' said couldn't be done, but after 2 days we at least had a wine we could toast our anniversary .Never received any acknowlegement of our special anniversary- no generic card, no champagne, no cake, no nothing. That's our feeling of the crew-they just didn't care and never tried to do what they could to make this a pleasurable cruise.
