5 Night Western Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Sail Date: March 28, 2009 Traveled As: Singles/Friends Reviewed: 8 years ago
The ship was very clean. All of the employees were very efficent and very nice!! Food in the dining room was great along with the service. Windjammer food was a little lacking and got old eating the same things everyday for lunch and breakfast.
Food and Dining

Loved the dining room and environment there. Time wise for dining room, the early dining at 6 sometimes felt a little too early to get ready but the 8:30 second dining time seemed too late. We didn't really want to do the our time dining because we enjoyed getting to know the people we ate with each night and our servers. Would probably still stick with early dining time. Windjammer was a little lacking. We kind of got sick of the same foods during lunch and breakfast there. Dining times were fine. Windjammer was very convenient. It was really nice that we didn't have to get dressed to go and eat.

We loved the Love and Marriage game show. Lots of fun. The Quest was funny. The Motown show was AMAZING. We also liked the comedian with the card tricks. Our absolute favorite though was the Schooner bar with Cory and the bartender Fernando. We had a blast there. Great guys. We felt like there could have been a few more options for right after the early dinner crowd. During that time, we usually just went back to our rooms and hung out because the things that were more fun didn't start until after 9.
Service and Staff

Everyone was super friendly. We liked our stateroom attendant, our waiter, and our assistant waiter. All were easy to talk to and helpful. Only time we had some flaws with staff was at disembarkment. As we were leaving the ship in a huge mass of people, there was only 1 person directing us where to go, while people just kind of got into line where they wanted. It was kind of frustrating and seemed to take longer than what it should have.

Easy to get around for the most part. Clean and updated condition.
Cabin / Stateroom

We were in an interior stateroom. For the amount of time we were in there, basically to get ready and sleep, it worked perfectly. It wasn't the biggest space but for two people, it was do-able. Our stateroom attendant was awesome. Everything was clean every day, even items that we forgot to move from our beds. Beds were super comfortable. Location was kind of out of the way, but what did we expect getting the best price. No big deal.
We did Stingray City which was fine. The water was gorgeous. We did have to wait a long time for our tour to get going but not horribly. The rest of the island was kind of disappointing. Almost too commercialized. Not really any "souviner" shops right by the peir that were convienent. We ended up getting back on the ship kind of early becase we got kind of boared there.
We LOVED Dunn's Falls. So fun. We went shopping afterwards which was fine but a little rushed. We decided that next time, after the falls, we would just get a taxi and drive to the flea market where you could get better deals than at the shops we went to.
Don't Miss: Dunn's Falls
Pros: Overall experience on the ship from food to people!!
