Beautiful ship and wonderful crew. by leonieW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We loved our cruise on MSC Seaside and all of the staff was superb. On board the cruise you will find an extremely diverse and international public in which perhaps every country was represented. We were impressed with the smooth embarkation/disembarkation process at all ports. Our balcony cabin was a nice to have but we didn’t use it very much. The cabin was nice and clean and we received fresh towels 2 x daily. The entertainment was good as well as the theme nights. Food in both the sit-down restaurants as well as the buffet were ample and offered lots of variety however, at times, the temperature of hot food items left something to be desired for. Although we had paid extra for the ‘Fantastica’ experience, we found this not worth it as it didn’t offer anything extra for us. For example when we asked the maître D for different table, it was declined. We also did not appreciate the different classes of service on board, like Belisimo, Yacht club and Fantastica, it is an old fashioned concept in our opinion and offered no value to us. Overall we like MSC cruises and would cruise with them again in the future should they offer a suitable itinerary.

MSC-fabulous, -not by bdjclifton3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We have been on more than 30 cruises (many suites) so thought we would try MSC for something different. We loved the Seaside and will return. We purchased a suite but it was not (14002). We also were not told it had an obstructed view. We contacted and they were no help in getting us moved. MSC Hotel Director saved our vacation by moving us and made us true fans of MSC.

Overall an Outstanding Cruise. MSC did a great jobe at a fair price and I would definitely sail on the MSC Seaside again. I would probably try the Western Caribbean cruise though.

A beautiful ship, but the cabins need to provide more storage. Lots of great entertainment and things to do.

Best Cruise to Date by aliciamustain

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Loved our cruise. Loved the people. Loved everything about it. I didn't feel crowded. I wish we had a better package deal that included the gratuities and drinks. In the future, I hope they can offer 5 day cruises and more excursion options for the South FL area.

Beautiful ship, very different experience by GwynnieP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Seaside

A different cruise experience with international flavor. I read reviews before our trip to prepare myself for a negative experience, but it wasn’t negative, just different. It certainly gave me a greater appreciation of other cultures.

Besides the incident involving a drunk patron we had a great time. Security was slow to act! It's never okay to put your hands on someone just because you're drunk! If you have an issue with some of the rude people just know security is in no rush and laugh! Rude as heck!

I will be back on the MSC Seaside no doubt! From the pools, to the food, to the activities, relax areas, drinks, and casino, this cruise experience was too notch.

Poor at best. Not a cruise for any American. Poor food, not enough, lousy bar service. by bobstripes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This is an Italian ship, geared to Europeans. It is not for the avg. American looking for a great cruise. Italian crew, not to social to us English speakers, European diet meals, not too much of anything, and you Pay for good food. I found it ridiculous on Friday night that they felt the need to shut the water off. I was up at 6AM, no shower, no teeth brushing, No coffee, no Juices, no cappachino, or espresso at the bar or restaurant. They said 6 hours, it turned out to be 7 and a half hours. This was the most expensive cruise I've ever taken. NEVER AGAIN on MSC Seaside, or any Italian cruise line. And is on my sh.. list too. Sorry, but honest. Robert P. Northern Potter Pa.

Beautiful Ship by davidapachkofsk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Be very wary of the free drink package. It only covers up to $6 drinks and you would think that they would just charge you the difference if you bought a $7 drink, but NO, they charge you the entire $7. Not mentioned anywhere, and almost all drinks are over $6. Be wary of free WiFi, because it is only a small amount of MB Never use a Debit card for your on-board account, because you have to wait in line the last morning to get any used funds back in cash. No one tells you this ahead of time. If you are older and need assistance with your luggage and also need to get off the ship early for a return flight, you will need to ask for a supervisor because the regular staff will just tell you that you have no options other than to figure it out yourself, but the supervisor will make whatever arrangements you need . As a gold card member in the Voyageurs club, they said that we would get a fruit bowl in our room, but that bowl consisted of an apple and an orange. They also said we got a free birthday cake, but no one in the dining room knew anything about it. Finally, we were to get a free picture, but when we went to get one on the last day, we were told that we were to come down on a particular day and time earlier in the cruise, and it was no longer available, but never mentioned to us at any time. With almost 20 past cruises, we thought we would be treated a little nicer. RCCL makes you feel like a king.

Beautiful ship with some serious partying going on. First cruise I ever was on that had more foreigners than Americans. It was so much fun. Great experience.

I didn't love it but I didn't hate it by bostonrobert

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Butler good. Asst Butler great. Food OK. Venchi great. Pizza excellent! Beautiful ship. Too big for us. Entertainment good. Ratio of Americans to Europeans probably 1 in 8. English language skill of staff C+. On board activities B+ (some were too pricey, in our view). Air conditioning - inconsistent throughout the areas we visited. Yacht Club experience - if you get a good price, go for it. Would we do another MSC cruise? We are uncertain at this point. The change in itinerary and the way MSC handled the communication about that still rankles. The future cruise credit and $100 per cabin of OBC is way less than we deserve considering plans we'd made. The excursions in the replacement ports were more expensive than at the ports we visited or were going to visit. MSC should have at least offered a discount for those as if we were buying them pre-cruise. I wanted to love this cruise and this ship. I went in with an open mind having read many bad reviews but also having watched lots of positive videos. I didn't have high hopes for the food (Celebrity has spoiled me, I will confess) so wasn't disappointed there. I expected more surly crew. That did not happen. I had a low bar set for the shows. While I can criticize every show (I went to 4) I did not feel as if I wasted my time. I enjoyed a lot of what I saw. Big tip regarding shows: you can watch them in your cabin on one of the on board happenings channels. Not live but they seemed to air during the last show of the night. A lot of people have commented that maybe some Americans aren't ready for a European-style experience. And yet MSC has big plans with 3 ships a year launching over the next 5 years (not all for North America, I'm sure). Does MSC want North American business or are they still just a European cruise line that is putting more ships in other parts of the world for their European customers? I imagine it's hard enough to cater to the many nationalities in Europe then add in Americans. Hearing announcements in 6 languages gets tiresome, I will admit, especially when 5 nationalities are all talking so the 6th can't hear what's being said in their language. And I almost forgot the muster drill. I don't know why they even have them on MSC. No one can hear what crew are saying. When I mentioned this to a crew member he just shrugged and said people can watch the safety video in their cabin. Anyway, MSC still has a ways to go, in my opinion, if they want the American market to embrace them. In the meantime, if you go in with the right attitude and maybe a 2nd language you'll have a good time.

Very Disappointing by Lapimienta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I would not go on this ship again. Others said they'd been on other MSC ships and had been more than pleased. But this particular ship is understaffed and the services are poor to just ok. Staff isn't very friendly or helpful and not many go out of their way to make sure you have a great cruise. With so many choices to cruise, this was very disappointing and I'll shop around and check out reviews closely net time before choosing MSC.

Not So Great... by paulpedone1977

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This is a good cheap cruise if you are a beginner to cruising. If you have cruised before and are looking for service and quality experience this cruise line lacks in this area. The staff is very overwhelmed in all areas and is lacking which makes long waits for ordering drinks, getting quality housekeeping and quality service in the restaurants is definitely lacking. This cruise line charges for everything!!!! Be aware!!! Also the basic drink package doesn't cover very much so its not the best deal if you are getting the over priced drink package. The prices they charge for the drink and dining packages do not match the quality you receive

Beautiful ship disappointed with food by bradybugs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Unfortunately I wouldn’t sail with MSC again. We prefer the food and vibe on royal Caribbean and Norwegian. There were many foreigners not many people spoke English. The ship is huge and beautiful oh and no running track first ship not to have that. Small gym as well not open 24 hrs. Pool deck is odd hard to watch pool games. Different type of cruise director also not what you would expect if you have sailed other lines this was only my 9 th cruise but it is in last place over the other 8 sorry
