Review summary

I had an issue with the placements of the signs in the buffet. I am not that tall and had a hard time reading what the food was. One of the things I picked had shrimp in it and I am highly allergic to shell fish. Went down to first aid and they didn't stock Benadryl for adults and wanted to charge me 250$ and they didn't have any in the back either. Thank goodness I brought my inhaler with and was able to counteract the problem. Benadryl should be available on board for people if they need it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not much to do if you didn't want to drink, party, or gamble. Slides and ziplines closed most of the trip due to high winds.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Didn't get to see any shows. They were all booked up when we wanted to go.

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was wonderful. He checked in on us many times a day cleaning and staighting up the bed and bathroom.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Layout was hard to get around. Many times we had to go up or down a level to get to the other side of the boat.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Size was good but I could have used a table to write or play a game on without having to go out to one of the lounges.

Ship tip

This is a good cruise for first timers to help learn the ropes and just sit back and relax.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

The weather was to windy to do anything but swim on the beaches or look at the shops.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Cozumel, Mexico

It was a bit overwhelming. All the jewelry shops tried to get you in to buy from them. If we would have we would have spent thousands of $

Disembarkation

We took our bags with us and were in line at 5:30am and were like 3rd off the boat

Definitely tell the cruiseline before you start your cruise of your allergies. That way they can cater food to you and avoid the food that you need to avoid. I went on a cruise with someone who is gluten intolerant. His meals were organised the night before by main dining room & buffet supervisors, as well as anyone else at that level or higher. And everything went smoothly. So for you bad experience in the buffet. Thank you for your review.

I agree with Dumfy75, if you KNOW you have food allergies, bring what you may need. Also, telling the wait staff or buffet staff of your allergy will go a long way to make sure you are safe.

Not meaning to sound harsh, but if you have a severe allergy like you say then surely you should make sure you bring anything you may need to deal with any episodes like the one you mentioned?
