Overall, this was a very enjoyable cruise. Many of the things that people complained about in the past have been fixed. When speaking with the captain at a cruise critic meet and mingle, he indicated that MSC has taken the comments seriously, and tried to make changes based on what the American public wants. They are striving to make this experience one that is truly enjoyable. We encountered many friendly and helpful staff. Entertainment was different every night, with singing, dancing, acrobats, etc. The Michael Jackson tribute the last night was VERY good.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Some nights, the food choices in the main dining room didn't suit our tastes, so we chose to eat in the buffet.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Most scheduled activities only lasted 30 minutes. This was too short.

Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was kept clean. Elevators were often crowded, so we used the stairs as much as possible.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was average sized for a cruise. Our bathroom actually had a bathtub/shower, so it was much nicer and easier to use. Balcony was wonderful!
Walked around on our own. Saw the street of umbrellas, Governor's mansion, Raices fountain. We ate at a local rooftop restaurant and had traditional mofongo, not bad. I even had pictures taken with parrots in the square.
Booked an excursion that took us to mountaintop - great view, and the banana daiquaris were fabulous! We also visited the beach and had a great time! One tip - even though fitbits are water resistant, the salt water will kill them!
Booked an excursion that drove us around the island, had time to shop, and then off to Maho Beach. We saw 4 planes land at the airport. They were so close, you could almost touch them!
We chose to walk around since we both had visited Nassau before. Be prepared to be asked by EVERY local if you want a guide/taxi/bus/etc. They are a little pushy. We visited the straw market, which was disappointing. From reading about it online, I was expecting lots of handmade articles. While there is SOME handmade crafts, most of the items for sale were the same Chinese made souveneirs at every stand. We walked to the Queens staircase and learned about the history from a custodian near the entrance, very fascinating.
