Review summary

The new design has many improvements over others but the design and size of the bathrooms is a concern. The cruise never seemed crowded. Assigned meal times need to end and open seating the norm as other cruise lines have adopted.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Even though 5 thousand people were embarking, the process was pretty fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I do not like assigned seating and meal times. I tried the NY steak twice and they were overcooked and dry. The other food was acceptable. The beverage package was confusing to me and the crew as cocktails and mixed drinks were not included. The package on NCL covers cocktails and mixed drinks

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools and slides were fun. The spa was very nice also. The cost of services seemed expensive.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
On NCL and Carnival, there was more variety of activities such as comedy and magic shows as well as the production shows.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I liked that there was plenty of shaded area as well as the sunny area for sunbathing. The deck never seemed overcrowded. The deck area for eating outside is expanded on the 8th floor. The ship ran very smoothly. The toilet is positioned in a way that a 6 foot man has to sit sideways to use it. The bathroom/showers are too small. There is less closet and drawer space than other NCL and Carnival cruises.

Most of the time, I prefer assigned meal times. Never a wait, better service, less awkward, and you really get to know your table mates. Hopefully there will always be a choice.

I hate open meal time and like the traditional assigned meal times in MDR
