Review summary

I expected MSC to offer some compensation for the issues we had in our cabin. Which also happened to our friends in orher cabins. We think it was an issue with the sewage system.

Food was from excellent at the Butcher’s Cut to just OK at the main dining. The service was extremely slow and we missed one show one night due to it.

Staff needs further training. Maybe because this is a new ship the majority of the staff didnnot know the ship and frequently could not answer basicnquestions without asking someone else.

Small but comfortable. For several days there was a foul smell in the corridors and cabin. We complained several times at the guest services desk and although they promised they were going to let us know what was happening they never did. Two jights we had to sleep with the balcony door open.

Ship tip

Don't expect the best food for a cruise line and be prepared for very slow service. Give yourself 2-1/5 hours to eat dinner comfortably.

The ship is beautiful! However, understaffed as well as untrained. Life vests NOT in cabin, rather at each Munster station for each guest. Imagine the pandemonium in case of an emergency. We did not feel safe during our voyage. Buffet dining areas on deck 8 and 16 did not keep tables clean in between use. Chairs had to be wiped clean before use. Antibacterial dispensers were empty more often than not. Toilets were overflowing, unable to flush and often no toilet paper. Shows were not great and short in order to accommodate theee shows in the evening. Mobil phone app was good except it has no way to communicate with other guests within the ship. Overall: not worth it. There are other cruise ships providing better service with less number of passengers.

I am going to be on deck 12 aft. We have family on 11 and 13.

We cruised from 12-30-17 to 1-6-18. Deck 11 but the bad smell was felt on deck 12 where we had some friends.

When were you on the ship? Was wondering if there are still issues now or of they have fixed it up. Sorry to hear you had problems, unfortunately the best you could hope for is they were at least appologetic. Even a mice guesture of a specialty dining experience, some drinks or something would have been a nice way to say sorry for the inconvenience and make you a happier customer. Hope it was fun otherwise!
