No but always good to have one "Medical emergency" if you don't have one you are stuck.

You don’t need a passport to go to the Caribbean, just a certified birth certificate, however if something happens you won’t be able to fly home without a passport.

Any trip outside of the country of origin requires a passport, even going from the United States to Canada requires having a passport.

You do not need a passport if you are a U.S. citizen it you are leaving a U.S. port and coming back to the same U.S. port. Unless, you are going to a country such as Costa Rica which requires you to have a passport. If you are leaving a U.S. port and getting off the ship in a different us port or a foreign port then you need a passport.

if you are just going to their private island Ocean Cay you don't need a passport.
