Review summary

Can’t think of anything else to add, except that for us, it was a perfect cruise. Highly recommend!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Special check in for the Yacht Club was very quick and efficient. They tested for Covid 19, which was in addition to our previously done test before leaving the US , but we were glad that they were testing!! Temperature checks throughout the cruise made us feel safe. A comfortable area with seats and snacks/drinks while we waiters for test results was comfortable and appreciated.

Ship experiences

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Again, the service in the Yacht Club was outstanding! Room was cleaned several times during the day, staff was very friendly and helpful, and always willing to meet any and all requests!! We enjoyed the Yacht Club and MSC so much, that we are taking another such cruise on Dubai in early 2022! And this was not our first cruise by any means, but it was our first MSC and Yacht Club cruise!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an interior cabin, which was surprisingly roomy and comfortable, even accommodating our 2 mobility scooters. Every evening there was a little before bed snack left for us by the butler, fresh linens, etc. The shower was a little difficult for us, but MSC staff provided us with a shower stool which really helped and made it all workable!!

Ship tip

Be prepared to be spoiled as the Yacht Club was first class all the way. We especially enjoyed meeting people from other countries and cultures, both on board and during the land excursions, all of which we found to be enjoyable and educational!!

Ports of call

Marseille (Provence), France

4 out of 5
We took the land tour which was very good. Judy liked This city the least of all the stops, but I especially enjoyed it since the last time I was there was in 1962, and was a poor traveler awaiting a repatriation loan from the US government in order to get back home. So to see and tour the city once again, but “in style,” was quite unique and nostalgic!

Naples, Italy

4 out of 5
Again, a large city, but the tour was very good. Both of us had been to Pompeii and Naples years ago, so we took just the city tour, which was worthwhile and somewhat nostalgic for us.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
One of the most beautiful and fantastic cities in the world! We stayed a few days before and after the cruise to take in all the sites!! Take them all if you have the time!!

Genoa, Italy

5 out of 5
The land tour was excellent, as were all of the land tours arranged by MSC. This was the one day with some drizzle, but we still saw the hi lights of the city, including strolling down some streets and into some palaces.

Messina, Sicily

5 out of 5
This was our first trip here and we definitely want to return. What a beautiful island, with an extensive history. The tour guide here was especially good and was also a comedic narrator of history and local folklore!!

Valletta, Malta

5 out of 5
Also, a first time for us and also a ver beautiful island, with an amazing past. We would like to return. Land tour was again very good, well organized, comfortable and full of new sights and information.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
As was all activities on this cruise, the procedure was very efficient and well organized. Once again, we were Covid 19 tested, which is good, luggage offloaded effectively, and we got off in no time at all.
