Review summary

We are from Indiana and this was our family's 5th cruise and it was the best one we have taken. We were very scared to go on the cruise because of all of the negative reviews but in the end are SO glad we didn't "listen" to the reviews. We found the food to be very good (both American and European style of food). We also ate at the Chinese restaurant and found it very intimate and good food. We never had to fight for a deck chair (and they are awesome chairs with the face cover). The ship is absolutely gorgeous and very classy. The shows were the best ever. We had everything from ballet to opera to a classical pianist, to shows that you would only see at Cirque de Soleil. The photographers were much less pushy than we have had on other ships. They had daily shopping bargains aboard the ship. My only complaint would be that very few people had any pay-out at the casino and I heard many people complaining about this. Customer service was great. Of course it is an Italian ship so English is the 2nd language for most everyone but we found that very appealing and never had a problem communicating when we needed to. If you are someone who wants loud and somewhat abnoxious decor and activities, then this ship is not for you. The rudest people we encountered on the ship were Americans, not the Europeans! If you want class with a European flair, then this is definitely the cruise you want to take!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining times were very convenient. Quality of food was very good and the service was 2nd to none! Several buffets were offered that appealed to everyone (including our three teenagers)

5 out of 5
One very nice thing on this ship is that you get morning announcements and maybe an evening announcement. Other than that, YOU have to take the time to read the daily schedule to see what activities you want to do. There was daily Bingo, art auctions, pool games and activities, aerobics, ping pong and mini golf tournaments, and some hilarious activities in the evenings in the lounges with the "excellent entertainment team".

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
The facilities are all beautiful for all ages. Our kids are teenagers and they found the Disco and game room but really spent most of their time entertaining themselves around the pool or eating gelato or pizza.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were very impressed with the staff. They were helpful around every turn and accompanied us on all of our shore excursions which we found to be a nice touch.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Stunning from top to bottom. This is an amazingly clean ship and there is hand sanitizer everywhere which we loved. The ship is large but feels intimate because of it's layout and decor.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Small but very comfortable. We had 4 people in our room. The decor in the staterooms is not near as classy as the rest of the ship but we really only used our room to change clothes and sleep in.

Pros: Beautiful ship, laid back atmosphere, great ports!
