MSC Divina

2 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: April 08, 2022

Ship: MSC Divina

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

This was the most disappointing cruise. The staff is unhappy. The food is bland and disgusting and only offered at specific times. No late night dining available. The embarkation and disembarkation takes hours. Several areas of the ship are closed off. The ship is beautiful and clean, too bad the rest of the experience did not correlate. I suggest a cruise that has it together. We cruised Carnival the week before and although the ship was older, everything else from the staff to the food to the entertainment was incredible.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Took over 2 hours for checkin. Our room that was reserved was unavailable. The COVID paperwork is scrutinized with photos needing to be uploaded for every person which took forever because of bad WiFi service.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Buffet food was bland and left a bad after taste. No late night food available at all. We took a Carnival cruise the week before and had delicious pizza available all night long. If you’re hungry at midnight on this cruise you will have to starve until the morning.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did not use

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Performers looked like they were disgruntled. Performance was ok at best.

Children's Programs

No kids on cruise

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Staff was rude and looked like they hated their jobs. Upon embarking the cruise we were immediately accosted to buy drink and food packages by several staff members. It made us feel very uncomfortable.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship design and cleanliness was on point. Too bad the rest of it was horrible. There were several areas and a pool blocked off and not available for use.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Ship tip

I suggest you use Carnival, Royal Caribbean, or any other cruise company. This cruise is full of unhappy staff and bad food.

Disembarkation

We paid our tab and had a credit we planned to leave as a tip. When we tried to exit the ship we were accused of not paying our bill. They would not allow us to leave and loudly said we owed them money in front of other passengers. They then realized it was a credit after waiting a half hour.

We went on Davina over Christmas - never again. Food was luke warm and hardly any choice - Christmas day was pizza, pasta and salad. Didn’t expect a full Christmas dinner but expected a better choice than that

We tried the Divina pre COVID. It seemed a great deal but never again. Food terrible. Staff OK. Back with Princess now.

Thanks for the review. People either love or hate MSC. I was on the Meraviglia in January and had a great experience and am booked on Divina in October. I thought the food, service and entertainment were excellent.
