Review summary

Overall, it was great for the price. We didn't go expecting much but it surprised us in some ways. Much less crowded onboard than embarkation led us to believe. The food was much better than most budget lines. Service, specifically in the room by the steward, was very lacking. But overall I would do again for the right price and a short cruise. I think if we were Yacht Club things would have been very different.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Lines were pretty long but nothing unusual or unexpected

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Was surprised by how good the food was! From buffet to dining room to the room service I didn''t have a lot of food I was disappointed with. You MUST splurge for the gelato! So good!!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the hot tubs and the pools very much. Never crowded surprisingly!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I wasn''t expecting a lot but I was pleasantly entertained. Some of the shows were a bit more exciting than others, and they aren''t like other lines but they were very talented individuals. Shows were more variety like even though they try to integrate a storyline.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The one thing I didn''t like about this cruise was the lack of service by room stewards. We needed things and didn''t have a way to reach them. The last day we didn''t even get bath towels and had to use the beach towels. We also had some random odd encounters with other servers. We saw a bartender get really nasty with a waitress, they were clearly having crew drama but its not nice to show guests that.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I really enjoyed the ship and its venues! You never felt crowded even thought it was big!

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
I would say that the cabin was like staying in a 2.5 to 3-star hotel. It wasn''t spotless and the steward wasn''t very helpful or attentive. We didn''t get towels as I mentioned above. They didn''t keep ice refreshed or pick up dirty cups etc. We couldn''t find the steward and when we asked how we could reach him he said, "Oh I''m around"

Ship tip

Don't go with expectations of it being like other American lines and you will have a good time. Try the gelato!

Ports of call

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
We had a friend show us around -- there isn't as much to see as other islands but it was still a blast!

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Similar to embarkation, somewhat chaotic and slightly disorganized but not impossible to figure out.

We have enjoyed all our MSC cruises. Sorry yours was not that great.

We’ve been on the Meraviglia and it is absolutely beautiful with many alluring features. However, the Divina is still our favorite MSC ship. We find it more “intimate”.

I went in 2016 and vowed to never take a MSC Cruise again. From poor embarkation (took us 4 hours of bedlam), horrible debarcation, food lacking flavor and presentation, mediocre shows. Servers were very inattentive to our table of 4 ladies....they were much more attentive to a large table of loud people. Nope...not wasting my money on MSC!
