Review summary

First cruise last year on Divina was one of our best. This cruise was probably the worst. Know before you go. Check with your travel agent or online sources before you sign up for this one. I hope this was just one of those fluke things and MSC returns Divina to the original splendor we enjoyed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
worst food I've had in over 30 cruises

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

2 out of 5
same group of singers and dancer every night just different songs and costumes.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
staff was tired and bordered on rude on several occasions. Ship seemed to be understaffed and staff was always hurrying to get the next thing done.

Cabin / Stateroom

This was the best part of the trip. Marlon was super. Room always perfect never had to ask for anything. One of the best cabin attendants we've ever had.

Ship tip

Check with your travel agent on this one. First trip on Divina was excellent. This one the worst. Don't be fooled by loyalty point and free drink promotions. They have done away with afternoon cocktail party and separate breakfast dining. Drinks are only the very bottom well drinks and no specialty coffee and you still pay 15% Everyone is now black card status.

The little beach area near the ship if fantastic. Warm water and warm welcome from many of the locals that frequent the beach for morning aerobics class.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Always fun to see Miguel and rent an umbrella and lounge chairs on the main beach

Disembarkation

Express exit was a total mess. No supervision, people stuffed into small room around centrum and pushing and shoving to get in a single file line. Announcments were non-existent and it was everyone for themselves. Just the slightest supervision and organiztion would have helped.

Hi I’m sailing on her in March for a 20 day transatlantic crossing to Genoa. I hope all goes well, I’m a little Skeptical but the cruise is paid for. This is my first cruise with them, the last 2 I’ve been on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean was very nice. The other was the NCL Sky which was horrible back in 2010 but that was 8 years ago. I hope it’s not a repeat of that fateful NCL one.

Please advise us what was different and bad?!?? I see you mention the food but I haven’t tasted any difference in 13 cruises? Been on Divina 3 times and Seaside twice and loved them all? Back on Divina in January and would love a little more insight? Thanks

Just curious.....what was different? I am going on it at the end of December and I am concerned. It gets a lot of of bad reviews. I wanted to go on one of RCCL Oasis class ships but my husband loved the itinerary. We will hope for the best.

That's terrible. We went on the Divina in 17 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Went on the Seaside last month and also thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually booked a cruise on the Seaview for next year.
