Good thing that the Monarch of the Seas is retiring because this ship is old, outdated with worn carpeting, broken lounge chairs, constant smell of sewer on deck 3 near the cabins and the food was not that good at all. I wish that I would have known that this was an old boat and retiring, because I would not have gone on it. Lesson learned!

Pros: Cabin attendant service and variety of activities

Cons: Old and outdated boat and mediocre food.

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? No.

Ship Quality
Outdated and odors on Deck 3 constant
Food and Dining
Not enough seafood on the menu, never any shredded cheese for salads, steaks were tough and lemonade was watered down. Convenient dining times was the only good thing.
Cabin / Stateroom
Too small, bed uncomfortable, the shower too small and as soon as you walk out of the cabin there was a smell of sewer constantly.
Service and Staff
Our attendant was very nice and friendly, the Cruise Director was awesome and the Vincent Dining hall staff were friendly but other that everyone was o.k.--didn't really go out of their way to be nice.
Variety of things to do on the boat!!
