Great First Cruise

Sail Date: November 09, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

This was my first cruise, and my wife's second. Everything was great - as expected! Staff was friendly and attentive, variety and abundance of food was wonderful. On-board amenities met our expectations; enjoyed a great massage in the spa! As a non-smoker, would appreciate more control, confinement of smokers. We found the disembarkation process confusing as to where to go and when, but that may be because we were first-timers.

Pros: Excellent staff\, great food\, quiet room

Cons: Smokers!

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? Yes!

Ship Quality
The Monarch is a tad worn around the edges\, and we were told would be leaving the fleet within a year. But that did not damper our enjoyment; we were not disappointed!
Food and Dining
Excellent variety\, quantity.
Cabin / Stateroom
Showing the ship's age. But quiet and comfortable.
Service and Staff
Have never been greeted \"Good Morning\" so many times in my life! And always with a smile!
We enjoyed what we went to\, but wasn't our reason to cruise.
