Review SummaryStrongly recommend not sailing with RCL. With hurricane Sandy in the area, they elected to not even sail the first night and made it clear we would not visit either ports of call on the schedule. Ship stayed in port the first night, and like many others, we left the ship after consulting with Customer Service who stated clearly that if we left before 9:30 that night, we would receive a letter of credit or a refund ... our choice. As I had paid for 6 people and 3 cabins, we left the ship. Now they want to tell me that they will only give a letter of credit. What a crappy company. People understood there were problems because of Sandy, but the company has now shown they are not reliable and do not stand behind their own customer service staff. And the funny thing is that they now want to tell us that their upper management never gave guidance to the ship about what to say or do. Why take your chances with RCL. Sail with a company that takes care of their customers and does not mistreat them. During this whole process they never made an announcement of this possibility to leave the ship. But long lines at customer service clued us in to the situation. DO NOT SAIL WITH RCL!
