Good four days!

Sail Date: October 08, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Although the Monarch is an older ship, she's still very nice. Cabins are smaller than what is provided in newer ships but, as usual, Royal Caribbean lets no dust bunny sit. The ship was clean and neat.

Pros: Food and Friendly Staff

Cons: Loud music everywhere so no quiet place to read

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
The 1/2 decks are confusing for a while\, but not mind-boggling!
Food and Dining
The food is fabulous\, though I noticed Royal Caribbean is trying to offer more healthy options. Very hard to keep to a diet while on board!
Cabin / Stateroom
Smaller than in some of the newer ships\, and a strange configuration when the beds were separated\, but clean and comfy.
Service and Staff
The Royal Caribbean crews are always the friendliest\, most helpful and the happiest of any ship crews. There is always a smile\, a 'good morning'\, a 'may I get you something?' to greet you.
Entertainment
Not enough variety\, though this was only a 4-night cruise. As I've found for 14 years (and complained of for that long)\, there is music everywhere - and usually too loud to disregard. The shows in the theater are only bearable if you have earplugs in - otherwise your ears are blasted to smithereens.
