Room Type: Oceanview

We travel often and this was not as expected. Since we had never traveled with Royal Caribbean before we expected a much better experience. The ship was clean but worn out. The service was great but the food was average. We were told Lobster was not served on the shorter trips and there would be a $25 upcharge if we wanted it. Not a good thing.

Pros: The service

Cons: The food

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? No.

Ship Quality
This ship is old and the carpet is worn and not as \"bright\" as expected. It seemed a little outdated.
Food and Dining
Yuch! Very few items were seasoned properly. The buffets were big disappointments. We could go to Golden Corral and get better tasting food. And the presentations were lacking. Afternoon Tea was just another buffet. At least have imported specialty tea. We can get Lipton from the corner supermarket at home.
Cabin / Stateroom
Although very clean. The rooms were extremely small.
Service and Staff
The staff was the best part of the cruise.
