Good, bad and the ugly

Sail Date: July 30, 2012

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship is older and the amenities are slim. However, the staff took pride in their ship and their service.

Pros: The shows and organization of the entertainment were just great. We enjoyed the different music venues and the variety was fantastic. On one hand the food was superb and the other it was not.

Cons: The number of teenage girls was overwhelming and they were distracting if not disturbing at times. Charging for lobster??? First time I've seen this. The food selection is becoming more reduced with the luxury items now a charge that were in the past a given.

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? No.

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
The food was excellent\, but the offerings were poor. Not a whole lot of variety.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our stateroom was always clean and well cared for. We enjoyed our location. Had friends however on 7 who did not enjoy the lack of enforcing the jogging before 10 rule.
Service and Staff
Staff were friendly and very service oriented. No complaints\, only compliments here.
The entertainment was excellent. The number of options was slim\, probably because of the length of cruise. I have only done 7 day in the past and this seemed like it was very limited.
