In the past we have always sailed the larger ship with verandas. But we decided to take a 3 day weekender cruise on the Monarch and found it to be more fun and the passengers more friendly. With an inside stateroom we spent more time in other areas of the ship. The gym was clean and enjoyable. The casino was fun and the employees were enjoyable. Our Activities Director than many of those on the larger ships. We missed the indoor pools and the outdoor activities of the larger ships but it was an even trade off.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food selection was adequate but we missed the lobsters.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was very clean and comfortable

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We choose an inside cabin, hoping for an upgrade but the ship was full.

Pros: More intimate than the larger class ships

Cons: The shows weren't as lavish as the larger ships with a larger stage
