We hadn't been on Royal Caribbean but have been very pleased with our experience. It was a vacation that fit extremely well into our budget and we were able to experience ports that we hadn't visited in the past. By far, I was very impressed with Coco Cay and all the activities they had to offer. I only wished we could have stayed longer. We also enjoyed Nassau very much. The shopping was great and the people are friendly. I definitely recommend using the shopping experts advice on this trip.

Pros: Food, shows, staff

Cons: Smoking area in Boleros

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

I can definitely say there was always something to do. There were plenty activities around the ship and the shows were also great. We didn't get to participate in some activities because they were in Boleros where it is open to smokers and makes it a very difficult to participate.
Ship Quality
Quite often we saw them cleaning and maintaining the ship. The varnish in the elevators was a bit strong, but at least they are working to keep it clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
The size of our room was smaller than what we anticipated, but considering the age of the ship, it was reasonable.
Food and Dining
We didn't do any of the specialty dining, but did eat in the dining room instead of the buffet. It was very nice and our waiters Muthu and Bloyd were friendly and fun.
Service and Staff
The staff was excellent. Knowing the staff occasionally gets off the ships at the ports, we asked around to find out activities and things to do at port other than shop and received great recommendations. Instead of calling we could easily call Katia, our room attendants name and she was always around to help us out. It was excellent.
