A solid cruise at a very good price

Sail Date: March 01, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

It is an older ship - I think they said it was being taken to Spain for some smaller cruises there. Again, kept clean by staff - did not have an old ship smell. Rooms nice size.

Pros: Ship was kept clean, stops were nice and long, staff is friendly, good magic and comedian shows!

Cons: Not a fan of the dancer/singer shows, cruised many times over the last 18 years, food is solid but not spectacular like it used to be.

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Food and Dining
Again - food is solid - you can always find something you like, but not like the old days where they would serve lobster and keep them coming. Lobster or filet mignon is an upcharge as an example. I guess this is how they keep the cost down.
Service and Staff
Very professional and did a nice job.
Entertainment
Magic show and comedian were great. Not a fan of the ships own dance and singing show. It was not bad - just not our thing.
Ship Quality
Easy to get around as not real large.
Cabin / Stateroom
Nice size
