Affordable cruise

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The food in windjammer was good but the formal dinner was lackluster especially the captain's dinner. This is the 2nd time that I have cruised on this ship and the 2nd time it didn't go to the private island, CocoCay, which was very disappointing. There should have been better deals on the ship if they are failing to include one of the stops. The activities crew was fun, especially drew, but the piano bar singer was not very good.

Pros: Activities staff and Windjammer food

Cons: Not going to CocoCay AGAIN.

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? Yes!

Ship Quality
The rooms are smaller than Carnival and the decor is very dated but the rock wall and basketball court are a definite plus.
Food and Dining
The formal dining menu choices were not very good but Windjammer had great food and lots to choose from.
Cabin / Stateroom
Small and dated and when they pushed the 2 smaller beds together there was a huge crack that you could feel.
Service and Staff
The activities director was great and our room attendant was great as well.
Comedians were ok, the piano bar singer was very poor, but the activities director was great
