Had a great cruise. The weather was great and atmosphere was everything we thought it would be. It was fun with lots of things to do. First stop was Coco Cay, RCL's private islad in the Bahamas. The island was very tropical and lots of things to discover or you could go to a secluded area and just relax as we did. The food was OK. Plenty of drinks all around and a chance to shop a bit if you want. We had fun and didn't want to leave Coco Cay. Next Stop was Nassua in the Bahamas. We had a great time wondering the market place and shops. We took a strool down to Junkanoo Beach and enjoyed a few cold drinks while soaking in some sun. Afterwards walked to the "Da Fish Fry" where we enjoyed fresh conch salad and a beer. We enjoyed getting away from the regular sites and got a feel of the native culture. After a bit we went back on the ship for dinner. The food on board was not 1st class as we would ahve liked. I compared it to a Morrison Cafateria. The kitchen staff prepares 16,000 meals a day and in this mass production effort they loose a lot of quality. The meals lacked flavor and there was no great seafood choices unless you wanted to pay extra. The staff was very nice and wanted to help you in any way. The last day statred with a midnite buffet on the pool deck as we sailed out of Nassau. It was very fun. After a late night of partying we spent the next day at sea. Lots of activities like watching the Belly Flop competition and trivia games. The farewell show was awesome. They put on a great sing & dance show. We had great sailing weather and we were very happy for that. All in all we had a great time but realize if you like to drink be prepared to shell out some cash. Beers run about $6.00 and specialty drinks anywhere from $6.00 to $11.00 each. It racks up fast if you enjoy that. the duty free shopping was awesome and we took advantage of that. I will go sailing again but after our second trip on the Monarch we'll likely not sail this ship again and try others in the future.
