3 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Although the Monarch is RCL's oldest ship in its fleet, the ship is easy to navigate. If you are looking for the big broadway type entertainment for evening shows, this is not the boat for you. Pre-dinner activities are somewhat sparse. This 3 day cruise is perfect if you are looking for an inexpensive weekend getaway as the ports of call offer you some diversion. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip but had lower expectations than what a larger ship or longer cruise might offer.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
the evening dining room experience is still a good choice and the food was good, plentiful and there was lots of variety. The breakfast buffet is limited in food choices and I only found one toaster. In the main area, the toast is servered already toasted and in a warmer. Sorrento's Pizza is a nice choice in the afternoons when you get back from the islands.

there are not a lot of activity choices in the pre-dinner arena. need more options to keeep you occupied before dinner.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
the staff are pleasant and everyone was helpful and appeared to have it under control. The ship's captain was one of the friendliest most interactive of the captains I've seen.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
this would be higher except that I think that boat could use a refresh.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The only complaint I have about the stateroom is the ancient TV sets (no flat screen and the screen is so small you can't read the time if you are lying in bed.)

Pros: Cococay was a great beach break

Cons: The food on the buffets

Recommends Monarch of the Seas? Yes!
