Review Summary

The ship was very clean but the employees acted as if they were at the end of their contract. When we first boarded we wanted some coffee and a snack. The coffee was empty (a line had formed) and it looked like no one was in a hurry to make it right. The food was tasty but there really wasn't the personal touch. We have cruised several times and this ranked at the bottom of all the lines we have been on so far in regard to the staff seeming to really enjoy having you on board.

Ship Experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We ate at the sit down dinner twice and the rest of the time we spent on the buffet. The sit down dinner selection was nice but, again, the food was not anything to write home about in regard to taste.

The cruise director was a little too much - got on your nerves with his hype. The comedian wasn't the best we've had and we didn't connect with him.

Service and Staff

TThey need to work on this if they're going to get people to come back. Our stateroom staff showed up only when our safe didn't work (twice it malfunctioned). And there was no personal touch offered - even though they cleaned the room.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and the layout and public areas were very well done. The grand staircase is impressive.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
our stateroom was very nicely laid out but a little cramped (so what else is new?) The television had a little to be deisred and the channels were limited.

Pros: the length of the cruise

Cons: ship's service

Recommends Monarch of the Seas? No.
