Good basic cruise.

Sail Date: December 23, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Suite

The ship was worn but, in good shape overall. The staff wasn't overly helpful or accomodating to us as a family with an 18mth old. Everything was just average.

Pros: Decor and Christmas spirit

Cons: Not very child friendly for an 18th old.

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? Yes!

They had many options that would fit most everyones taste.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were in a suite and it was comfortable in size.
Ship Quality
Children's Programs
If your child isn't 2yrs old they do not qualify for any programs. And, the sitter service availability is based on on-board voluntary staff which made it impossible to book.
Food and Dining
Long lines during peak times, and our dinner service took too long for our daughter to sit the entire time. We requested expedited courses but, it was still over an hour. When it was just us, it wouldn't have mattered.
Service and Staff
Zero options for child care of an 18mth old. We ordered a crib that took 7hrs to get, couldn't use the pool because she isn't potty-trained, not child friendly at all.
