3 day Bahama's Cruise

Sail Date: October 21, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship at 20 years of age has seen better days. The crew wass less than I expected in terms of professionalism and meeting the needs of passengers. The one bright spot was our cabin attendant who went above the call in ensuring we were comfortable.

Pros: The chance to relax and unwind

Cons: Dining experiences and cabin

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? No.

Food and Dining
Food choices were less than expected and the seating for the main dining was strictly limited to set time. Only after we were on board did we learn that you had to prebook to take advantage of the ships Dine when you want program
Cabin / Stateroom
Clean but smaller than anticipated and the web site description was very mileading as to the "view" which consisted mainly of the deck and walkers and joggers going by.
Ship Quality
The layout of the ship was not user friendly despite deck diagrams near the elevators on each deck
Service and Staff
Again if it weren't for our cabin attendant Juliette this category would deserve a rating of poor to fair
Entertainment
Comedian and Comedian/magician were excellent and very enjoyable. Second performance of the comedian was not untill 11pm on the last night when we docked at 7am the next morning making it a poor plan indeed
Nassau, Bahamas
No thanks but this was a long time to spend in an area with noihing much to offer unless you had booked an extra cost excursion.
Don't Miss: There wasn't one
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Could have used more time here instead of all the time at Nassau. There was crystal clear water ample lounge chairs plenty to eat and drink.
Don't Miss: The water it was awesome
