Our First Experience

Sail Date: August 05, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We had been told before we even left that we should have high expectations from Royal Caribbean's service team. At every single point along the way, each member met or exceeded those expectations. The serivers were personal and seemed very sincere. Although the food was not what we were used to there was plenty of it and nothing was said if some was wasted. At each meal we were encouraged to try something and that if it wasn't to our liking they wouold get us something else. Every night our room was kept immaculate and the towel animals kept us smiling! It was a Great Vacation and we are sorry it had to end.

Pros: The Service and the way everyone greeted us.

Cons: Cancelling the Coco Cay stopover

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? Yes!

Ship Quality
Several of the toilets in the common areas werer backed up and would not flush. This happened near the sound of music theater and near the casino and on the last night in 2 different areas that we went to. When I told the bar servers ( as they are the only people who I could find) they said the would pass it on.
Food and Dining
Food was good quality/portions were fine/choices were varied/ I would have liked a kosher or fruit plate offered as well.
Cabin / Stateroom
Small but very clean and comfortable.
Service and Staff
Everyone was very attentive and caring.
The shows were exccellant but the comedians were a little late in the evening for us to really pay attention.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Unfortunately, due to the weather we did not get to see this port! Very dissappointed.
Don't Miss: Supposedly the beach activities put up by Royal Caribbean.
Nassau, Bahamas
For a first timer it was very interesting. A tour is he way to go but the time went so fast that we did not get to try to do everythin g we wanted to as we were afraid that we would not get back in time for our dinner or when the ship would leave.
Don't Miss: Tour of Paadise Island
