Would do it again!

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

Took my 14 year old son and we had a blast. Plenty to do and the food was very good. 3 days was great for a first time cruiser. The staff will knock themselves out to make you happy. This ship is a little older, but it is kept up very well.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean ship, LOTS of activities, constant food and fun.

Cons: Engine noise heard in my room, especially from 5-7am.

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
Could use an update but very clean.
Food and Dining
Not the best I've ever had, but the food was very good. They offer healthy options, too.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room was super clean. Engine noise was noticable in my stateroom, 7539, but only if you are a fairly light sleeper.
Service and Staff
These people are awesome!! They will bring you extra entrees if you didn't get enough or really liked something. The magic tricks the waiters show you at dinner are a bonus - ask if they don't do them, it seems like they all know how. If you don't have a kid with you, they may be less likely to show you without you asking. They love to help.
Entertainment
All the activities were fun and many have been updated from past cruises. The group leaders are funny and want everyone to have a good time.
Nassau, Bahamas
Atlantis is worth seeing unless you have been to the Georgia Aquarium, and then it is a little bit of a letdown.
Don't Miss: Do a city tour if you have never been to Nassau.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Seagulls will drive you batty at lunch. They scream. Don't leave food on your table. Walk around the island because one side has more of a breeze than the side where almost everyone parks themselves.
Don't Miss: Buy a drink and get the plastic cup for a souviener if you have kids.
