A great surprise

We went into this cruise with low expectations. We were very surprised to find a clean ship with easy access to everything. Everyone smiled all the time. The staff were always ready to help with any requests.

The boat had great food options with lots of stuff that was yummy. The buffet in the Windjammer cafe was very busy and chaotic but the Jade cafe offered a quiet and in my opinion better viewing second option. The food in both areas were more or less the same which was just ok at best. The evening options were excellent for the sit down service. With that being said, probably the sit down breakfast and lunch options would have been better than the buffet.

Drinks were always well served with a smile and with plenty of booze. I mostly stuck with beer as an 'Oil Can' of Fosters was practically the same price as a corona. Mixed drinks were fairly priced.

The stateroom was an Superior outside stateroom which had plenty of storage and a flat screen TV not that we used it much. The AC was sufficient. The bathroom was clean and taken care of everyday.

Over all I have nothing bad to say about our 4 day cruise.

Pros: ease of everything, stateroom, ports of call, service with a smile

Cons: buffet, cost of booze, mediocre shows

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Entertainment
Kinda 2nd rate singing and dancing. The comedians were funny. I had a great time in the casino and hit a progressive and won 650 off a 5 dollar bet.

We had a great time wondering the streets of the area and took a local bus to the 'Fish Fry' to have some beers and some conch. We missed our stop and got to see the whole north side of the island on an hour long bus ride to the airport. Kinda cool to see how the people on the island live and see some of the mansions. The Fish fry was yummy. Conch ceviche was great at the Alaskan Restaurant. Senior Frogs was a meat market (imagine that) but the drinks and the view were the best. Yummy Hurricane is the best bet for your $.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Great day just relaxing on the beach with a bucket of beer and some music. The weather was wonderful. The public area BBQ was pretty good just watch out for the aggressive iguanas which were actually funny to watch. They do not give up.
