Room Type: Inside

Overall this ship was very poor. We made the best time of it and enjoyed ourselves but I wouldn't recommend this ship. I don't feel the room nor the service on the ship was worth my money.

Pros: it was relaxing and had an awesome time in the bahamas. the food was pretty good compared to carnival.

Cons: the rooms were very small, not many activities onboard, they were working on the boat, painting etc, didnt take many pictures, too many highschool kids, charged for room service and it took 45 min. to get it to your room, didnt announce the activities and not many stores onboard the boat to shop in.

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? No.

Cabin / Stateroom
Size of the rooms was very poor. There was no room to move hardly in your cabin.
Entertainment
not many activities on the boat at all. Activities were not announced and we missed the few activities they did have. Teenagers and high-school students took over the boat.
Food and Dining
The food was pretty good in the open dining but you actually had to pay in the formal dining area. There were long lines in for all of the formal dining areas so we ate in open dining the entire cruise.
Ship Quality
Old boat. The boat smelled horrible when we ported, which they blamed on shampooing carpets. The shower was so small I had to actually prop my foot up ok the sink while in the shower just so I could shave. The beds were very hard and it was two beds pushed together. Decor wasn't fancy. Some areas of the boat were actually taped off nc they were painting and doing maintenance.
Service and Staff
our room attendant was very friendly but the overall service on this ship was nothing compared to our last carnival cruise.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
there were only like two shops on the cococay and since owned by the cruiseline it was cruiseline food served.
Nassau, Bahamas
we went in several shops and bot souvenirs. We took a tour of nassau. It was very interesting. Nassau is very poor as far as money and style of living is concerned. The bahimians do not like tourists. They begged a lot and they were unbelievably rude.
Don't Miss: senor frogs
