Had a great cruise!

Sail Date: April 01, 2011

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Found this oldest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet in exceptional condition. The entertainment was great with the music / dance shows typical but well done. Comedy act was exceptional, and comedy juggling act was unexpected but good. Found most of the crew very friendly and helpful. Our stateroom attendant was exceptional (Grafton on deck 3). Food was very good, but nothing exceptional, deserts another matter... awesome!!

Pros: Entertainment / Cruise director

Cons: Can't really think of anything

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? Yes!

Ship Quality
Could not find anything wrong with this ship. For a 20 year old ship, exceptional condition. The captain commented that the ship had soul, and it showed. Crew seemed proud to be working on her.
Food and Dining
Not gourmet, but very good.
Cabin / Stateroom
OK, cabins are small but how much time do you really spend in them. My wife and I found them comfortable and very clean. Took nothing away from our cruise.
Service and Staff
Only one example of a not friendly crew. A waiter argued with me about a drink order. Other than that, nothing but smiles.
The cruise director Marc Walker really makes this cruise. He has to be the best in the business.
