Okay for first time cruisers

Sail Date: April 04, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The ship was nice, but has clearly not been updated since it was built in the 90s. There was a sewage smell from the bathrooms the first few days that made things unpleasant. Many of the activities aboard the ship [not excursions, just everyday activities] cost extra money...leaving little to do on the ship without spending some serious cash.

Pros: Not to many people, nice staff, clean ship

Cons: Out-dated, lots of things cost extra money, smelled weird

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
Small [but we expected that] and outdated.
Shows were pretty good, but like I said, many of the activities on board cost extra money.
Food and Dining
Our dinner wait staff was phenomenal and there were lots of options for food choices.
Ship Quality
Very clean but very outdated
Service and Staff
Very friendly and willing to do what they could to help.
Nassau, Bahamas
You can't do much at Atlantis anymore without paying [you used to be able to do the aquarium for free] but our $3 water taxi ride over was very informative and very worth the $3 [not to mention way less stressful than a real taxi ride]. Find a beach, find some shade, grab a coconut, and relax!
Don't Miss: Check out the straw market for the experience
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Not much to do other than sit on a beach unless you want to spend money. Snorkeling and floating rafts should have been free...but they charged you for whatever they could.
Don't Miss: A hammock! And try a Coco Loco [even though it's like $8]
