Mike's 1st Cruise/Anniversary for us

Sail Date: April 01, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

This was my 1st cruise; so this was a learning cruise and YES desire for another to compare it to. Will cruise RCC again but different newer ship(ease to compare to). WOW factor for me and enjoyed winning the Hairy Legs "Sexiest Man Competiton". Great support for patron(s) involvement noticed (many attended the event- nice food service presentation also).

Pros: Superb meals and wonderful caring staff. Variety of meals

Cons: Sewer smell on 4th floor near the room, Small and crampt staterooms

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
OLDER Ship noted (rust and window edges paint peeling), Serious sewer smell each day near our stateroom. Mostly clean throughout the ship. Would have been nice to see or have access tour of Capt control areas.HELM<<.
Cabin / Stateroom
VERY SMALL/Crampt. Shower water ressure was trickling (but hott-NICE), not much room for the suitcases and clothes storage. Lovely decorated for wife (Anniversary views), Loved it*.Location for us was exactly where we wanted to be. (Nice and quiet/comfortable sleeping)*
Food and Dining
Wonderful staff and meals. Selections had various and many selections each meal. Requested few extras and ALL were supplied without question and meals HOTT and very tasteful. Beautiful decorations and sculptings (ICE) were gorgewous.Sangee, and Kavali were the BEST (Table 365), Thank you ..!!
Service and Staff
All staff met were supportive and very informative to (my 1st cruise) questions and suggestions.
Eurrky & Simon were very informative (Cruise Direct Staff). Waiter in Schooner bar Richard was very informative/suggesting plans while on cruise.
Ease of many different shows and things to select from to do while on board (Compass a GREAT tool for passengers)
Was not aware of availability of changing planned scheduled excursions. Nicely advertised ADULT "Quest" was exactly that; Nicely controlled and age verification verified, noted.*
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Beautiful Island/Water and things to do. (Used medical care center for sunscreen and salt into my wife's eyes and helped immediately-Professional.)No Coffee or BREAKFAST TO HAVE IF MISSED ON SHIP>>Sad. Had to await BBQ 3 hrs later.
Don't Miss: Jet Ski tour and ride was SHORT but gorgeous. Ride for the fee is WELL worth the time. VERY schedule accomidating for all joining the excursion.
Nassau, Bahamas
Sadly the areas visited were dirty and unkept when was there, Prices were nice and purchased the items desired.
Don't Miss: Prices of goods on select need items. Did not take tour or excursion there.
