Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Oceanview

We selected Royal Caribbean because we thought this would be an "upgrade" to other cruise lines for my parents first time. It was awful. Staterooms were filthy (literally a layer of dust on ledges and lamps" carpets stained and in need of replacement. We Had a "Superior ocean view" room and the couch in it was barely big enough for one person. It was half the size of other ships and I saw a regular room. It is a closet with enough room to shimmy along one side of the bed.

Also, there was constant out of control partying on board... People in their underwear riding up and down the glass elevators dancing and exposing themselves, jumping into the pool topless and in skibbies, dancing with blow up was like a frat party. I get it people are going to drink and have a good time, but this was way out of control. The worst part was that security was doing nothing, and there was no where for you to go and get away from it unless you went into your cabin.

Pros: Getting off the ship

Cons: the DIRTINESS of everything

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? No.

Ship Quality
The ship looked like the "Rust Bucket" in port compared to the other 5 ships docked next to us.
The show on this ship is announced by the tour director as being voted the best in the fleet. If it is, I do not want to see the others. It was more high-school than broadway or vegas.
Service and Staff
Some were very friendly, some were flat out rude
Food and Dining
Food was ok. it was the same in the dining room as well as the buffet. Nothing special (which was disappointing. They always had Indian food and es-cargo.....strange as a staple in my opinion.
Cabin / Stateroom
horrible. beds were like sleeping on a board, filthy carpets, dusting was obviously not part of the room upkeep. the bathroom shower had rust growing from the base up the wall. The size was at least half of other fleets.
