For the relatively little money spent, this was a good value for a short get away. This is clearly an old ship, and not for those who are sensitive to odors. The staff were very friendly, but their clothes also has the same smell as those that permeate the ship. The decor was still beautiful and the place appeared immaculate, even immediately after meals in the buffet, but you always got the feeling that they never deep clean it, that the water used to clean everything was recycled and non-potable. It's like a beautiful woman with really bad body odor. The gym was a little understaffed, as there were classes that were advertised, but did not materialize, leaving some of us standing around in the gym and starting other workouts. Also, there was a dearth of quiet areas; I could not find a secluded corner, other in my own cabin to do any reading or writing. The dedicated areas for children in their own ages was a very nice touch. Everyone got to enjoy the cruise their own way.

Food and Dining

Beautiful presentations, appropriate portions, relatively good selection. However, one could tell that there were shortcuts taken in order to save on preparation. For example, there was a vegetable curry, which was nothing but the mixed vegetables that one would buy in the frozen section mixed with a curry sauce. Not authentic, but still tasty with a variety for everyone.

Children's Programs

The cruise director understood what the difference between the little ones and teens. Everyone seemed happy.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Really great, helpful staff. Some of the staff from Jamaica were a little loose with slang and use of words that sounded perilously close to profanities in a place with lots of children, which was somewhat disturbing.

Ship Quality

Beautifully maintained, superficially. Everything was wiped down, swept up and kept neat all the time, except for the smell. One could not walk down the halls without smelling the septic system or be near the kitchen and get a waft of what my cutting board smells like if I don't clean it with bleach after cutting raw meat on it (except that it is 10X worse in the ship.)

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
My stateroom was small, but appropriate for what I paid. Again, there was that smell in the bathroom which made it hard even to brush my teeth.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: The 'old ship smell'
