A Great Cruise for the value!

Sail Date: May 24, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise. We would do it again. The ship was a bit dated but they worked hard to keep it clean. The staff was great and waited on you continuously. The entertainment was great and poolside activites were fun to watch. It was a great value for what you get. I would definitely recommend this cruise to anyone looking to have a good time at a competetive price.

Pros: Onboard entertainment

Cons: Cabin room size

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
Cabin was small. There were three of us one of them being our son who is 7 years old. Bathroom was very small as well. You dont spend a lot of time in the cabin so we didnt mind it so much.
Ship Quality
Service and Staff
Children's Programs
Food and Dining
Food was excellent in the sit down dining areas. Nice selection of choices. We had the 5:45 seating which we liked. Just in time for the shows which were typically around 7:45pm.
Entertainment
Comedian, magician, singers and dancers were excellent. We made a point to attend each show and we were not dissapointed. Poolside activites were a lot of fun.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Coco Cay was great! Beautiful, clean island with plenty to do. Water was refreshing and very clean with soft white sand. Buffet on the island which is included was very nice. We didnt snorkel but was told it was nice.
Nassau, Bahamas
We didnt spend much time right in Nassau. We took an excursion to Blue Lagoon Island for a dolphin encounter. Great island with plenty to do. If you like to interact with dolphins then this is the place to go. We booked directly with Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounters and saved approx $100.
