Good inter-generational family cruise wi

Sail Date: February 01, 2007

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

Embarkation was quick. Checked out staterooms. Noted large pile up of luggage near elevator, we couldnt wait, so we picked ours out and transported it to rooms. Unpacked and enjoyed rest of trip. This was our second cruise. It lacked the magic of our first cruise on a Celebrity ship. Everything was a notch below in quality. Nevertheless this was a very good trip and a good value for the money. I would go again and recommend it. Enjoyed San Diego; took a long walk to Balboa Park. Santa Catalina Island; went bike riding (except for beach area, it's mostly steep hills). It was good to go to Ensenda once. We walked around, shopped and ate fish tacos. I heard the excursions were good.

Pros: Friendliness of crew and passengers, varied activities, ports and great selection of food enabled everyone to have a great time.

Cons: Foul smelling backup of drainage water overflowed into two staterooms. It was quickly and efficiently cleaned up, as though this has happened before.

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!
