As this is our second cruise, we knew what to expect and what to do on board and off shore. In comparison with Carnival Sensation, Monarch of the seas is 100 times better.1. Tasteful decoration: decoration on board and in cabins is much better tastefully layed out and presented. No tacky or flashy decoration color schemes as on board Sensation. 2. Separate activities and lounges for adult and kids: This is the part I and my husband appreciate the most as we enjoy our own privacy and stay with people of our age groups. Definitely a plus for adults who wish to enjoy a nice quite cruise rather than to be mixed in with teenagers and kids at all time. 3. Small cabin: However, since we were on board for southern carribean cruise, we were on land every day for short excursions, thus this did not bother as at all. In fact, We rather to have a nice comfortable cabin than to have a large but ungly decorated cabin as what we had on Carnival. 4. Cabin stewardess need "notices": In this cruise, the cabin steward did not do everything what she was suppose to do. During the first two days, she only made the bed and cleaned the batchroom, but disregarded all other chores such as tidy up the cabin or place ice in ice bucket. Thus I needed to clean up my own cabin and ran around to get ice. It was not very pleasant. Therefore, on the 3rd day, I wrote her a notice posted on my mirror to request her "to perform her duties of cabin maintenance". Painful and stupid, but she started working harder on that day on....5. Food quality was average: Nothing fatastic or excellent that make you want to taste more. Coffee was blend most of the time especially when you dine on the deck. The coffee tasted like mud water. 6. Good entertainment: Again, nothing fantastic but it was pretty good. The cruise director was definitely much better than Carnival Sensation whose every second line is always an advertising slogon. And if you seek variety, there are quite a few different choices of music and shows. And there you go. My second cruise review. Definitely a thumbs up for Monarch of the Seas and we will consider cruise with them again in the future.tata!Montreal, QC., Canada
