mediocre cruise

Sail Date: February 01, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was mediocre. Our cabin on Deck 2 was noisy and smelled like burned rubber the first day of the cruise. We told Wayne, our cabin stewart, and he said it was the vent for heat which I do not agree. He basically disregarded our complaint.

Pros: excellent service in Claude's formal dining room, good curfew for teens (change from 2am to 12 midnight)

Cons: $20 charge for beach towels, no indoor swiming pool

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Food and Dining
Our waiter, Jerry (East Indian) gave excellent service and had a pleasant demeanor. He always had a smile even when one of the couples at our table was late. Jerry remained pleasant, served them good food, and was courteous
Cabin / Stateroom
Our cabin stewart Wayne needs to be more available and present around the cabins. Not meaning to offend, he may need a fresh smelling soap or mild cologne.
Service and Staff
One of the beverage servers did not take our picture when I kindly asked her. She showed me a credit card and said she's serving someone and took off. She could have apologized or come back later but she didn't.
There needs to be a theater to show movies.
Children's Programs
Curfew for teens should be changed from 2am to 12 midnight.
