Ship: Monarch of the Seas
Cabin Type: Oceanview
Traveled As: Couple

The ship is smaller than others we have experienced but it is very clean and and shiny. It was easy to learn our way around and the ship had all the amenities we needed for a short cruise. Our oceanview cabin was small compared to balcony rooms we have always gotten in the past but the bed was absolutely wonderful. That was my favorite part of the ship.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food quality was not as good as we have experienced in the past but it was still adequate and I didn't have to cook it. The 8:30 dining time we were assigned was very bad. We didn't think it would bother us but we will never do that again.

The entertainment was fairly limited for us because of the late dining. The showroom is not large enough for everyone and if you are leaving the dining room at 10 p.m. you are too late to get a seat for the 10:30 show. One comedian was funny and the other was not. There was one standout singer. The costumes were a little ill-fitting. The acoustics int he showroom are not very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff were always there to assist. They were all very friendly and helpful.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were on the 5th floor at the very front of the ship. Actually the 5th floor is very convenient to everything. The front probably rocked a little more than the center of the ship but it was pretty smooth sailing.

Pros: Meeting crew members and other guests

Cons: Late dining assignment
