Fun cruise!

Sail Date: April 10, 2009

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

I enjoyed the food, the island of Coco Cay and the excursion (Jet-ski) on the island. The shows were really good and the staff were super courteous and accomodating. I would recommend that the rooms be sprayed with Febreeze or some other freshening spray between cruises. Also, some kind of wall freshener needed in bathroom. The smell of urine was constant, even with toilet lid closed. Also, I would recommend stopping at another destination besides Nassau, Bahamas. That city had a lot of trash down the roads. The beach was littered with broken glass--everywhere. The straw market could use some marketing help. All the items for sale were repeated in every row of the market. The rows were nearly inpassible and smelled like a nursing home. The island of Coco Cay was awesome! The straw market there is well put together and pleasant for tourists!

Pros: Coco Cay Island and the delicious food on the cruise!

Cons: The room was musty and bathroom smelled funny. Maybe spray with freshener.

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED) 221? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
A little cramped for our family of four. I would get a bigger cabin next time.
Ship Quality
Very clean ship expecially compared to another "party ship" cruise line we traveled on before.
Food and Dining
Loved the fresh fruit , shrimp and smoked salmon.
Service and Staff
Our stateroom attendant, Hendra, was very pleasant and always smiling! Our assistant waiter, Aireen, was also very pleasant, smiling, and always making sure our dinner needs were met.
Lots of shows.
Children's Programs
Our son loved the ping pong tournament and game room. He didn't realize it cost him $10.00 to use the video games until afterwards ( not clearly stated).
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Jet ski excursion is awesome and worth the money! The beach could use a few more lounge chairs. The inlet was gorgeous! The straw market was well put together.
Don't Miss: Jet ski guided tour excursion
Nassau, Bahamas
Please see my main comments about this. Dirty city.
Don't Miss: none
