Better than Expected!

Sail Date: June 20, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

I had read some critiques of the ship after I had signed up and was afraid I might be disappointed. I was wrong!

Pros: The enthusiastic staff

Cons: Crowds around the swimming pools made it hard to swim

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
Very clean. The carpet could have been steamed clean but most everything was sparkling.
Food and Dining
One of the other passengers said it was much better food than on his Carnival cruise!
Cabin / Stateroom
My junior suite was actually bigger than I expected and there was tons of storage space!
Service and Staff
From the captain on down the staff had great personalities. We reported one staff member that seemed disgruntled and rude. Immediately 3 manager types jumped on it, corrected the problem and gave us a special treat for bringing it to their attention
Ensenada, Mexico
The blow hole excursion trip was intersting and there were alot of places to shop along the way.
Don't Miss: Be sure to continue to the furthest point to catch the blow hole exploding!
