Room Type: Oceanview

This ship has plenty of activities- the 2 ports we visited were Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico- we had fun in both. Ensenada has 2 wonderful wineries you can take a bus ride to. It takes about 45 min. to get there, definitely worth the trip.

The room steward was very attentive. The wait staff in the dining room was fantastic. We had an asst. waiter, by the name of Song, that was really a sweetheart. It was his first cruise!

It was fun to get away- even though we live right in San Diego.

Pros: ship was nice- food was very good

Cons: the astro turf surrounding the pool stunk - it was really disgusting

Recommends Monarch of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
They really need to get new linens, pillows, and bathroom towels. The towels were like sandpaper and were very tiny. It is definitely time to get new ones.
