Review summary

Overall, the cruise was good but not great. Food was a disappointment. Nassau was a disappointment. Not as good a cruise as I expected from all RCs hype about being better than other lines. Deserts were tiny in the buffet and my family thought tasteless. MDR deserts, especially the chocolate cake and apple dessert thing were very good. Not sure I will go out of my way again to sail RC, when other lines are just as close or closer.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Psarking was easy and getting aboard was easy, however they placed my son as primary in their system making my app not work correctly for the entire cruise. Not discovered (after 4 trips to guest services) until the last day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Refreshment stations are NOT readily available throughout the ship. If you want a simple class of ice water in the morning your only choice is the promenade cafe and it only has a very small refreshment station with just water (no ice), no lemonade, etc. During the day your kids would have to go into a bar to get ice water if the buffet was not open. Deserts were TINY and tasteless. Food in MDR was served cold twice. French fries were always very good. Son loved the buffet burgers. Steaks on the buffet had good flavor. Seating in the buffet area was hard to get. Not relaxing meal when you have to hunt and compete for a place to sit. Best to be first in line when buffet opens as 30 mins later you may not be sitting. Family did not think food was as good as other cruiseline we have been on.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not a lot of activities for older (i.e. out of their 20-s and 30) adults who are not still athletically inclined. Shuffleboard, corn hole, and ping pong. The ability to walk outside completely around the ship was nice. DO NOT waste your money on their "ALL ACCESS" tour. It is short and you do not see much. Heck, we did not get to meet the Captain, tour behind the stage, even see where the crew ate. Plus in the galley you could not hear the presenter, and in the laundry the presenter barely spoke English and did not show/explain much. I have taken Carnivals tour and it was much better, saw much more, and almost twice as long.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Costumes were great, but singers were off key and not great. Ice show was fantastic, but on this ship, they did not do reservations, so you ended up standing in line for over in hour for any hope of a seat. We actually had to stand both times we saw the show. They did not have a separate comedian show, which was a big disappointment. Our kids love the family friendly comedian shows we have gone to on other cruise lines.

Children's Programs

My sone participated often, however, on due to time of the year, there were not a lot of kids on board. He enjoyed his time though.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was very clean and well maintained. My only complaint is that there are not many indoor seating areas where you can just sit down and relax. The bars and paid restaurants were about it, and the whole third deck was smoky from the casino. Lots of outside seating during the day.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Stward did an outstanding job. We liked having the loveseat in the room as there was not much inside seating around the ship. I need a quiet dark cabin and this inside cabin was great. Very little noise. Sleep like a baby. Shower was very good too, as long as you are not a really big person.

Ship tip

Their app is unreliable and glitchy. 1/2 of the time it did not even show correct ship time. Messages to family members would sometimes be delayed. Even guest services would tell passangers that it was not "one of RC's better products."

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Easy to get around.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

Beautiful! Loved staying overnight. Take one of the plentiful island tours. You can look into the water from the pier and see beautiful fish.

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
We took a tour and what we saw was dirty, crowded, and I don't why people would want to vacation here short of the big Atlantis resort. If I ever go there again, I will take an excursion outside of the city. Long walk from the pier to land.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Although it rained most of our time there, for the few hours in the afternoon we did venture out, we had a good time. Food on island was good, lots of free chairs, fresh towels, shuttle etc. Paid activities were VERY expensive, such as the water park. Disappointed in that the snorkeling was not very good. Almost no fish that we could find at south beach where we chose to sit.

Disembarkation

Would have been a 5 except they put out bad information about where you picked up confiscated items. We had a short non-GFI muti-outlet that has never been a problem on other cruise lines confiscated (yet our kids was not). There were many muti-outlets on the table when I finally found where it was located.
