Review summary

Royal was a good cruise line. We would do another one with them.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation at Port Canaveral was the quickest and easiest ever ever had.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was all good but certainly not the best we've had.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools were usually crowded, we love trivia but the venue they had it in was way too small. It was nice it just didn't seat very many.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Musicians and stage productions were on part with other lines. Nothing really outstanding from any other cruise.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and eager to help in any way.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Mariner was always clean but starting to show her age in places. In my opinion there were too many open spaces making several of the venues too small. Seemed like a backwards design.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was standard for a cruise ship. The mattress was awfully hard. We had them put a topper on it but it was still very uncomfortable. It also never got very cold in the room at night. Sleep was difficult for both of us.

Ship tip

Don't expect much from the bed.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Didn't visit anywhere but smoothest cruise port we've been in and out of so far.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Great beaches, excellent layout, was very hot and humid but that isn't something you can control.

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
No excursion this time but the little souvenir area was nice and not a lot of pushy salespeople.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Perfect Day is aptly named. There is something here for everyone and every budget. A little crowded with 2 ships there at the same time but otherwise I would love to go again.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smoothest, easiest we've ever done.
