Review summary

As most folks know, 3 days is a very quick vacation and staying up past midnight every night and getting up to go the next morning is not always executed as planned so it would be difficult to experience everything in a 3 day span. So, do a back to back and really enjoy the ship. We had a great experience and still didn’t get to see/do everything. Looks like we will have to go again 😎

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Back to back so the turn around process was very smooth. Consecutive cruisers meet in the Star Lounge and are given the “next” cruises set sail pass. Then escorted off the ship and down to Customs and right back on, it couldn’t have been nicer.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Unlimited dinning package found us in Chops most nights, we did try Jamie Oliver’s and it was good, but this old man loves steak.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There are numerous activities and plenty of pools and deck space (although the lounge chairs are so close together you can’t step between them).

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Ice skating performance was great, live music was great, the singers however sounded a bit off, but that’s understandable that everyone has an off day.

Children's Programs

No kids with us

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Standard great service from both the bar staff and room attendants.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The Mariner was AMPED, a revitalization process RCI uses, in 2018 and the cabin we were in was brand new. The water slides, Flowrider, putt-putt and all are cool.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Being a new addition to the ship, the Cabins on deck 11 and 12 forward starboard side, are fresh, have larger televisions and more room. The bathroom is where things get a little tight for a 6’4” fella. Not a whole lot of room for the knees when sitting down (if you know what I mean) and my head hit the ceiling while standing in the shower/tub.

Ship tip

Go see the ice skating show, we did twice.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
I want to move to the area when we retire to be closer to the cruise action. Port Canaveral has plenty to do and see on its own.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
We actually stayed on board and got a massage in the spa. Nassau is kind of dirty and getting on/off the ship isn’t bad, getting in town through the maze of people hammering you for services or whatever is stressful.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Got a cabana on the quiet side of the island and lived it. We did the same thing 4 days earlier and really enjoyed it. Fantastic service and the food was restaurant good

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Waited till our number was called, got on the elevator and got off the ship in under 5 minutes.
