Acceptable -- not extraordinary

Sail Date: November 01, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Suite

Embarkation in Singapore is awful. The diamond status does not matter. Internet service is intermittent. Only 168 Americans out of 2700 plus passengers. Many slow moving elderly people; many groups with 5 children or more. Gym and spa were empty. Cameras flashing all the time. Tour of Phuket never mentioned the tsunami. The ship is fine\, the staff tries hard to resolve problems. Was ready to disembark.

Pros: The 5 day duration is a quick highlight of Singapore\, Malaysia\, and Thailand

Cons: Internet issues; slow phone answering; embarkation\, and large families and many elderly

Recommends Mariner of the Seas? Yes!

Ship Quality
Promenade was so busy in the evenings that all the shops ran out of merchandise. Few photographers compared to other RCCL ships. The Jr. Suite is fine for 1.
Food and Dining
Room service attempted to accommodate the Asian customer as well as western passengers. It was fine\, though not remarkable.
Cabin / Stateroom
Jr. Suite is fine for one; Grand Suite better for 2 people.
Service and Staff
Tried hard to resolve problems of which there were many smaller\, annoying items.
Ice shows and 4th rate theater isn't worth the time. Perhaps children found it amusing.
